Marinades for tofu that will make it savory rather than tart?

I've surprised myself and ended up liking tofu, I'm no vegetarian so any marinade would be fine. The things my daughter uses to marinate the tofu usually leave it tasting tart or a bit sour...which she likes, but I don't. Not having all that much experience with this product, I'm looking for suggestions?
