How to 3/4 pointe shoes?

My ballet teacher suggested having me 3/4 my pointe shoes, I already practiced on my old pair so I know that i like how it looks/supports my foot. These shoes that I'm 3/4 are brand new, they are Bloch Signature Performance, they do have a nail in them. So far I've lifted up the suede sole and i cut off the first layer, there is a second layer where the nail goes through, i had to cut this too or else you couldn't even tell they were 3/4. Now my problem is I don't know what to do with the nail, at the moment it is sticking out a good amount my fried puts duct tape were she has 3/4, but i don't knwo what to do next. If anyone could tell me how they 3/4 that's be great!
