Can someone give me some reasons why FDI isn't always good for the receiving economy?

The only one I came up with was the competition between small domestic companies against large international conglomerates. At the end of the day though, jobs are jobs. Why are also some companies just scared of investments? North Korea, Iran, Syria, Venezuela, etc.

About the huge explosina in San Bruno, California, why are so many jumping to all the wrong?

To all the wrong conclusions about why this happened. I have read on yahoo news comments it was done my Muslims, by the devil,by God, by someone angry, etc. Here are the facts so far as I know them. Gas was smelled in this neighborhood for several weeks. PG&E(the gas company here) did respond to these complaints, but NOTHING thus far has been said from them about this. The pipe where the gas comes into the neighborhood was about 24" across(a big pipe to say the least). So, why do people right off the bat make such horrid comments without one single fact? BTW, I live about 70 miles from San Bruno.

If I were you, stick with Steven Jackson. He is a stud RB, I doubt his disappointing performance will carry over. I would also put in AP. I do not think Chester is going to start, or be healthy enough to steal many carries away from him. He should be able to tear the Lions apart. I wish I had him. Grades for Medical School?

i just finished my freshman year in college and i reaeeeeeally messed up. i had a very rough year and missed my midterms due to a death in the family. since i missed my midterms, the grades i got were 5 Bs and 2 Cs, and 1 F (but it is getting dropped because i missed more than 2 labs and they couldn't p me). hpwever, I want to get into medical school. I am thinking of taking the cl that I got a C on, and during the summer again. if i get an A, which grade would med schools look at and which once counts for the GPA. As of right now I have a gpa of 2.3. this is the lowest grade that i have had in my life. I had a perfect 4.0 in HS. and have NEVEr gotten below an A. What do I do? cause i really want to get into med school?????????? plese help?????

How do you know if my dog is dead?

Excuse me, i wonder if you can help...I have an dog, and its been lying infront of the fireplace for a week now, hasnt moved or eaten...And it also smells really bad, and its ears have rotted away....Any clue whats up with it???

If someone killed a kitten or puppy in 2-4 years, would that show they took proper care of it?

I can say that I don't normally care about a fish death it it was eaten or killed by something else in the tank. I do however care about every animal in my tank. I buy them because I like them. Because I like them, I will go the extra mile to keep them happy. Even the dreaded mantis shrimp that I got with a piece of live rock is well cared for by getting his own 12g aquarium that is nicer than many people's nano reefs. I would not be happy if my clowns didn't make it at least 10 years.
