Viviane & Uther in "The Mists of Avalon" by Marion Zimmer Bradley (SPOILERS)?

I did interpret it as Viviane and Uther knowing each other intimately in a past life, because when uthers ghost appeared Viviane suddenly knew why she had never loved any man during her lifetime. She also seemed kind of jealous of Igraine not only for her beauty but for the fact that she was too old to bear Uther's son. But the whole page was very confusing, so I dont know for sure.
