Grades for Medical School?

i just finished my freshman year in college and i reaeeeeeally messed up. i had a very rough year and missed my midterms due to a death in the family. since i missed my midterms, the grades i got were 5 Bs and 2 Cs, and 1 F (but it is getting dropped because i missed more than 2 labs and they couldn't p me). hpwever, I want to get into medical school. I am thinking of taking the cl that I got a C on, and during the summer again. if i get an A, which grade would med schools look at and which once counts for the GPA. As of right now I have a gpa of 2.3. this is the lowest grade that i have had in my life. I had a perfect 4.0 in HS. and have NEVEr gotten below an A. What do I do? cause i really want to get into med school?????????? plese help?????
